Pray that the Lord will raise up Kazak believers in Kazakstan to go to China with the gospel

Petition for promising breakthroughs

What can a line in the dirt do to separate people who share a common language? Plenty, if the line is an international border! Yesterday, we prayed for the Kazaks in China, where the Chinese government has successfully kept the gospel from the Kazaks.

Across the border in Kazakstan, however, things are far different. The cell-church there is growing rapidly. Translation of Christian hymns has progressed and there are now 100 of them in the Kazak language. In one province of Kazakstan, 50,000 Kazak Storybook Bibles were distributed in the public schools for use as reading textbooks.

In addition, believers are being trained at the Great Commission Bible School in Almaty, the capital of Kazakstan, and Christian workers are teaching and doing medical work in various parts of the nation.

Pursue God's heart for all nations

"The Lord has made His salvation known and revealed His righteousness to the nations.... Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth" (Psalm 98:2,4). The psalmist was deeply aware that God's redemptive acts on Israel's behalf were also played out on a stage before the nations. Israel, called to be a kingdom of priests, had the privilege and responsibility of interpreting these acts to the surrounding peoples. We who have come to know Jesus as Savior and Lord have the same privilege and responsibility, made greater by our knowledge of the completeness of Christ's redemptive work on the cross. What a delight to declare His acts to the nations so that they may respond with joy to their Master!

Father, open our lips to tell others of Your salvation and righteousness.

Dear Lord, we thank You for the Kazak believers and ask that You will nourish them in Your Word, and send them out to reach other Central Asian peoples. Be particularly close to those engaged in Your work in Kazakstan and prepare many hearts to receive Your blessings. As children read the Kazak Storybook Bible, touch their hearts and lead them to receive Jesus as Lord of their lives.
